Bio
Alexis Sarandon is a graduate of Tristate College of Acupuncture. Alexis grew up between the Hudson Valley and Southern California inspiring a deep love of the outdoors and the cultivation of physical and emotional well-being. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, she received her undergraduate degree in creative writing while also working extensively in farm-to-table restaurants. Her love of food, health and physical activities led her to years of working on farms and growing produce, providing nourishment and wellness through quality food and community. Becoming an acupuncturist felt like a natural transition for Alexis, a space where she could share her food knowledge, love for connecting to people and mastery in her practice.
At Tristate College of Acupuncture Alexis studied APM, TCM and Japanese style acupuncture techniques. APM (acupuncture physical medicine) was the style Alexis felt most akin to. APM incorporates trigger point muscle release while considering the meridians of the body, emotions and overall health.
Alexis studied post graduation with Classical Chinese Medicine master Tim Aiken, completing a mentorship program that allowed her to truly understand pulse and tongue diagnosis and how to understand those tools in treating patients. She also interned under Michelle Bombacie, trigger point acupuncture specialist honing her knowledge of muscle groups, myology and anatomy of the body.
While continuing her journey as a practitioner, Alexis studied post graduation with cosmetic acupuncture guru Shellie Goldstein in 2018 and became a master of cosmetic acupuncture + Gua Sha. Alexis, now also specializes in cosmetic acupuncture as well as traditional acupuncture where she melds the old TCM techniques with more modern ones like microcurrent, LED, cryomassage, and nutrition and lifestyle counseling.
